Why the kitchen is different

The kitchen is the hardest room in the house to get right. That is the whole job.

A kitchen remodel is five trades working in the same room in the right order: demolition, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry and finish work. When one trade runs ahead of another, you get the problems homeowners actually complain about. Cabinets that do not line up with the plumbing. Outlets in the wrong place behind a new backsplash. A countertop template taken before the base cabinets are shimmed level.

Complete Construction Group is a licensed Florida general contractor (Certified Building Contractor CBC1266704) based in Bonita Springs. Owner Brian Davis sequences and supervises every kitchen personally, from the first walkthrough and written estimate through permits, association approvals, construction and the final walkthrough. One accountable person, start to finish.

What we build

Five ways a kitchen gets rebuilt

01

Full Kitchen Remodel $40K to $80K

The kitchen comes out to the studs and goes back the way you actually use it. One contract covers demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, cabinetry, countertops, tile, appliances and finish work, with permits and inspections handled for you.

  • New semi-custom or custom cabinetry, soft-close throughout
  • Quartz, quartzite or granite countertops, templated after cabinets are set
  • Full-height backsplash, undercabinet lighting and new electrical
  • Flooring carried through to the adjoining rooms so the kitchen does not read as an add-on
02

Layout Changes & Open Concept From $55K

Most Southwest Florida homes built before the 2000s close the kitchen off from the living space. Opening it up is a structural job, not a cosmetic one, and it is the single change that does the most for how a house lives.

  • Load-bearing wall removal with engineered beam, permitted and inspected
  • Relocating sinks, ranges and refrigerator lines
  • New island with seating, power and dedicated circuits
  • Ceiling and flooring repair so no scar line shows where the wall stood
03

Kitchen Refresh From $15K

When the layout already works and the finishes are dated, a refresh gets most of the result for a fraction of a full remodel. This is the right call before listing a home, or for a seasonal property that needs to look current without a long shutdown.

  • New countertops and backsplash on existing cabinet boxes
  • Cabinet refacing or repaint, new doors and hardware
  • Sink, faucet, lighting and appliance swaps
  • Usually two to four weeks on site rather than three months
04

Condo & High-Rise Kitchens Per project

A condo kitchen is a different job from a single-family kitchen, and most of the difference is not construction. It is approvals, access and building rules. We prepare the association package, work inside the building’s hours and protect the route from the elevator to your door.

  • Association submittal: scope of work, schedule, contractor license and certificates of insurance
  • Service elevator reservations and protected common-area routes
  • Plumbing and electrical work planned around shared stacks and risers
  • Sound-rated underlayment where hard flooring is specified
Whole home & condo remodeling
05

Cabinetry, Countertops & Finishes Per project

The parts of the kitchen you touch every day are the parts worth spending time on. We walk the cabinet and stone selections with you rather than handing over a catalog, and we specify for Southwest Florida humidity rather than for a showroom in a dry climate.

  • Plywood box construction over particleboard in coastal and seasonal homes
  • Quartz for consistency and low maintenance, quartzite and granite where you want the natural stone
  • Full-height backsplashes that eliminate the grout line behind the range
  • Trim, crown and panel details that make stock cabinetry read as custom

2026 pricing

What a kitchen actually costs in Southwest Florida

What moves the number

  • Cabinetry. Usually the largest single line. Stock, semi-custom and custom can differ by $20,000 on the same floor plan.
  • Moving water and gas. Relocating a sink or range means opening the slab or the ceiling below. Keeping them in place saves real money.
  • Walls. Removing a load-bearing wall adds engineering, a beam and inspections.
  • Stone. Quartz is predictable. Exotic quartzite and large-format slabs are not.
  • Access. Third-floor condo with one service elevator and a four-hour daily window costs more than a ground-floor house.

01

Walkthrough

We measure, look at what is behind the walls where we can, and talk through layout honestly, including when not to move the plumbing.

02

Written estimate

03

Permits & approvals

We pull the permit with the authority that has jurisdiction and prepare the association package for condos before anything is demolished.

04

Build & walkthrough

Trades sequenced in order, floors protected, site cleaned daily. We are not finished until your punch list is finished.

Condos, associations and timing

The part of a condo kitchen nobody warns you about.

In a high-rise or a gated community, the construction is rarely what delays a kitchen. The approvals are. Most associations will not let a crew through the door until they have reviewed a package, and most of them meet on their own schedule rather than yours.

We prepare that package as part of the job, because a contractor who has not done it before will hand it back to you to figure out.

What associations typically ask for
  • A written scope of work and project schedule
  • The contractor’s state license and certificates of insurance naming the association
  • Permit documentation before work begins
  • Proof of sound-rated underlayment where hard flooring is going in
What that means for the schedule
  • Approval windows that run from a few days to several weeks
  • Service elevator reservations booked in advance
  • Work hours commonly limited to weekday business hours
  • Protected routes from the loading area to your unit

When to schedule in Southwest Florida

Timing matters here more than in most markets. Many associations restrict interior construction during season, roughly November through April, when the building is full. That pushes most condo work into the May to October window, and it means the calendar fills early.

May to OctoberOff season. Most association work windows open, contractor availability is better, and permit offices are less backed up.
November to AprilSeason. Many buildings limit or prohibit interior construction. Single-family work continues, but schedule earlier.

Association rules vary building to building. Send us your documents and we will read them before you commit to a date.

Specified for this climate

What holds up in a Florida kitchen

Humidity, salt air and months of a house sitting empty are hard on a kitchen. These are the choices that matter here and would not matter in Ohio.

Cabinet boxes

Plywood boxes rather than particleboard in coastal and seasonal homes. Particleboard swells once it takes on moisture, and a closed-up house in August is exactly how that happens.

Countertops

Quartz is engineered, non-porous and consistent slab to slab. Quartzite and granite are natural stone and need sealing. Marble looks beautiful and etches the first time someone sets down a lime.

Backsplash & flooring

Full-height backsplashes remove the grout seam behind the range. Large-format porcelain handles sand and sliding doors better than most wood products in a beach-adjacent house.

Hardware & lighting

Marine-grade or well-finished hardware near the coast, where cheap plating pits within a season. Undercabinet LED on its own switch, since Florida kitchens take hard afternoon light and go dark fast.

Who runs your job

Born and raised in Bonita Springs.

I was born and raised here, and I have been working with my hands since I was a kid. When I went into business for myself, the whole point was that the person you meet is the person who runs your project.

On a kitchen that matters more than on almost anything else we do. You lose the room for weeks, you are eating out of a microwave in the garage, and every day the job sits idle is a day you feel. I sequence kitchens so the trades do not wait on each other, and I do not consider the job finished until you are happy with it.

Questions

Kitchen remodeling questions

Straight answers to what people ask on the first call. If yours is not here, call (239) 687-0144.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Bonita Springs?

A mid-range full kitchen remodel in Bonita Springs typically runs $40,000 to $80,000. A refresh on the existing layout starts around $15,000, opening up a wall usually lands between $55,000 and $110,000, and custom kitchens with premium stone and integrated appliances run $85,000 to $150,000 or more. You get an exact written price after one visit.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most full kitchen remodels run six to twelve weeks on site. Before that, allow two to four weeks for selections, the written scope and permitting, and longer if cabinetry is custom ordered. A refresh on the existing layout is usually two to four weeks. Condo projects add time for association approval and elevator scheduling.

Do I need a permit to remodel a kitchen in Bonita Springs or Estero?

Yes, in almost every case. Any work involving plumbing, electrical, gas or structural changes requires a permit and inspections. We pull it with whichever authority has jurisdiction over your address: the City of Bonita Springs, the Village of Estero, the City of Naples, or Lee or Collier County for unincorporated areas. Pure cosmetic swaps sometimes do not require one, and we will tell you when that is the case.

Can you remove a wall to open the kitchen to the living area?

Yes. If the wall is load bearing it needs an engineered beam, a permit and inspections, and that is normal work for a licensed building contractor. We confirm what the wall is carrying before quoting it, since the answer changes the price significantly. We also repair the ceiling and flooring so there is no visible line where the wall stood.

Do you remodel condo and high-rise kitchens?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do in Estero, Naples and Bonita Springs. We prepare the association submittal, book the service elevator, protect the common-area route, work inside the building’s permitted hours, and plan plumbing and electrical around shared stacks and risers.

What does my condo association need before work can start?

Most associations want a written scope of work, a project schedule, the contractor’s state license, certificates of insurance naming the association, and permit documentation. Many also require sound-rated underlayment under hard flooring. Rules vary building to building, so send us your documents and we will read them before you commit to a start date.

When is the best time of year to remodel a kitchen in Southwest Florida?

For condos, usually May through October. Many associations restrict interior construction during season, roughly November through April, when the building is full. Off season also means better trade availability and less backed-up permitting. Single-family homes can be remodeled year round, though the calendar for the off-season window fills early.

Can I stay in my home during a kitchen remodel?

Most people do. We set up a temporary kitchen area with the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, seal off the work zone to control dust, and protect the path in and out. Expect no cooking surface for several weeks, and expect water to be off for short, scheduled stretches rather than days.

What countertop material holds up best in a Florida kitchen?

Quartz, for most homeowners. It is engineered, non-porous, needs no sealing and stays consistent slab to slab, which matters in a humid climate and in a house that sits empty part of the year. Quartzite and granite are natural stone, hold up well, and need periodic sealing. Marble etches easily and is a lifestyle decision rather than a durability one.

Do you handle kitchen and bath remodeling together?

Yes, and doing them under one contract usually saves money and time. The same plumbing and electrical trips cover both rooms, permits can run together, and you absorb the disruption once instead of twice. See our bathroom remodeling page for scope and ranges.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. Every kitchen we build carries a one year workmanship warranty. If something we installed fails because of how it was installed, we come back and correct it. Manufacturer warranties on cabinetry, appliances and fixtures run separately and we register them in your name where that applies.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Complete Construction Group is owned by Brian Davis, a Florida Certified Building Contractor, license CBC1266704, and the business is insured. You can verify the license on the Florida DBPR website at myfloridalicense.com, and we provide certificates of insurance to homeowners and associations on request.

How do I get an exact price for my kitchen?

Book a free in-home consultation. Brian walks the kitchen with you, takes measurements, talks through layout and selections, and follows up with an itemized written estimate showing allowances for cabinetry, countertops and tile. No cost, no obligation, and no pressure to decide on the spot.
